AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

All Cookswood homes are eqipped with underfloor heating, powered by air source heat pumps. Air source heat pumps harness natural energy by extracting heat from the outside air to convert it into warmth for your home, significantly reducing energy consumption and reliance on fossil fuels. These systems operate by continuously circulating and filtering the air, ensuring excellent indoor air quality while maintaining a consistent and comfortable temperature. Quiet and unobtrusive, air source heat pumps seamlessly integrate into modern living, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective way to heat your home without compromising on comfort.

SOLAR PANELS

At Cookswood, homeowners have the option to enhance their property with sleek, high-efficiency PV solar panels that seamlessly integrate into the design of each home. These slimline panels harness renewable solar energy to generate electricity, reducing reliance on traditional power sources and lowering energy costs. These are available on all pitched roof designs, including the Nest, the Cottage, the Barn and the Executive Barn.

LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS

Our properties and facilities are built using locally sourced materials, such as local stone, wherever possible. These materials are carefully selected to complement the surrounding natural landscape. By sourcing key materials from nearby, we significantly reduce transportation distances, lowering our carbon footprint while supporting local businesses. This approach not only enhances sustainability but also ensures a high-quality, consistent supply of key materials for your new home, blending timeless craftsmanship with environmental responsibility.

RAINWATER HARVESTING

We also offer the option to integrate a rainwater harvesting system into your home, providing a sustainable way to conserve water and reduce dependence on the mains supply. These systems collect and store rainwater, which can then be used for various household purposes such as flushing toilets, watering gardens, and even laundry. By making use of naturally available water, you can significantly lower your environmental footprint while also reducing water bills. Designed to be efficient and low-maintenance, rainwater harvesting is an excellent way to promote sustainable living without compromising on convenience or functionality.

HABITAT CONSERVATION

Cookswood resides in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by SSSI woodland, and this carries significant responsibilities. Our estate is designed with a focus on sustainability and environmental preservation, ensuring that every aspect of development respects and enhances the surrounding landscape. By protecting native wildlife, supporting biodiversity, and integrating natural habitats into our design, we aim to create a harmonious balance between luxury living and the natural world. Cookswood’s approach is rooted in the belief that a thriving, eco-friendly environment is key to preserving the beauty of this extraordinary area for generations to come.
